The Moveable Feast that is Easter

Dear all,

Life would be a lot simpler if Easter stayed in the same place year on year but that’s not the way things work. Just to clarify, we are running Music Makers for the next two weeks. That means that we’ll be moving and shaking our stuff right up until Thursday 2nd April. We’ll then take a two week break and recommence in the 3rd week of April. (During the Easter hols I’ll draw breath and email out the details of subscription offers for the first half of the summer term).
So
The next sessions of Music Makers will be held this week on

Wednesday 25th March – 1.30 to 2.30pm, and

Thursday 26th, 9.20 to 10.20am AND 10.45 to 11.45am.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers
Owen

PS for those of you who know Carl and Madeleine and Edward, a new baby brother arrived last Sunday. No doubt we’ll all get to sing “happy arrival” to him at some point!

Extra session added on Thursdays!

Tomorrow, Thursday 26th February, will be the first day of our new expanded timetable for Little Music Makers.
So please note: there are two sessions tomorrow morning:
9.20 to 10.20am
and
10.45 to 11.45am
I’ve purposefully left 25 minutes for the changeover so that we have the time to keep playing Night Garden and Bach to babies when we finish the official session.
I’ve no idea if these arrangements will work in practice so we’ll just have to go with the flow whilst we work things out. Thanks in advance for your co-operation.

Well there it was, Merry Christmas …

I hope everybody had fun, and a Happy New Year to everyone.
Out with the old and in with the new. The next session of Music Makers will be tomorrow, Thursday 8th January, 10.30-11.30 at St Clement’s Youth Centre, Chorlton.
Let’s see how many little people we can get “strutting their stuff” through the rest of winter and towards spring.
Hope to see you there!
Owen

Great rhythm section, fine choir

Dear all,
The next session of Music Makers will be tomorrow, Thursday 27th November, 10.30-11.30, at St Clement’s Church.
There’s a really good feel to what we’re doing at the moment. Our Christmas songs are brushing up a treat, and the central movement and rhythm sections are really going well. We all seem to be in fine voice to. So all in all there’s a good vibe to Thursday morning music making.
Hope to see you there.

Wassail Stretford!

16 December 2014 The Music Makers Quartet will be making a double appearance at The Stretford Sip Club. Christmas carols and songs for the children from 6pm; adults’ singing session from 8.30pm. Sip Club owner Heather is offering FREE mulled wine for lusty singers (who are over 18!). “Come join the people of Stretford for a proper festive sing-a-long.”

Lost and Found

Dear all,
The next session of Music Makers will be tomorrow, Thursday 18th September, 10.30 – 11.30, in the Youth Centre at St Clement’s Church, Chorlton.
Owen’s Little Music Makers has acquired a new mascot, which I keep forgetting to mention! She’s a pink “Baby’s 1st Doll” and she was left with us during the holidays – I think at the 18th August session. She’s kind of pink, with a beany hat, she has a rattle in her head, and she’s slightly chewed around the edges.
If anyone is missing her, feel free to mail/call and we’ll arrange her safe return.

Back to school – and Thursday slot for Little Music Makers

Term Time Music Begins September 4th.

Dear all,
Just a quick reminder – Little Music Makers term time sessions recommence Thursday 4th – 10.30 – 11.30. If you found us over the summer in the Lower Hall at St Clement’s please be aware that our Thursday sessions take place in the Youth Centre – the stand alone building in the Car Park.

I hope to see you there.

Cheers
Owen

Summer Monday Music is back

Dear All,

Following on from last summer’s success, tomorrow, Monday 21st July, sees the return of Summer Monday Music-Making.
The sessions will be from 10.30 to 11.30 in the Lower Hall at St Clement’s Church, Edge Lane, Chorlton, M21 9AE.
We have far more room in the lower hall than the youth centre so spread the word and let’s have a fun and productive summer of music making for small people.
The age range is nominally 0-5, but if you want to bring slightly older siblings feel free to do so. All that I would ask, if you are bringing older children, is that you try to keep them motivated and involved in what is going on.
Prices have increased from £2 for the first child and £1 for each additional sibling, to £3 and £1.50. I believe Music Makers still offers great value for money at this price and I have taken this step to ensure the viability of the whole project, going forward.
